Xinjiang Zhongtai (Group) Co., Ltd. marked a dual milestone with the inauguration of its 1 million ton/year coal-to-methanol facility and the groundbreaking of the 1.15 GW Tokkuzun wind power project on the same day—underscoring its commitment to scaling China’s green chemical and renewable energy sectors.
1 Million Ton Methanol Facility
Located in Turpan’s Toksun (Tokkuzun) County, the CNY 5.99 billion project spans 1,350 acres and leverages advanced coal classification and resource-utilization technologies developed domestically. Three Jinhua gasifiers produce synthesis gas at 286,331 Nm³/h, operating 8,000 hours annually, while an intelligent control system ensures optimized performance. Project leader Ma Kui, Party Secretary and Chairman of Xinjiang Zhongtai New Materials Co., Ltd., positions this as China’s first fully localized, large-scale coal-chemical demonstration.
1.15 GW Wind Power Breakthrough
Under the leadership of Liu Chao and developed in partnership with China Power Construction (Toksun) New Energy Co., Ltd., the Tokkuzun wind farm will generate 1.15 GW of clean electricity, displacing 700,000 tons of coal and cutting 1.93 million tons of CO₂ emissions annually. Situated in the Xiaocaohu area of Toksun, it lays the groundwork for a broader green-energy hub integrating hydrogen, ammonia, and energy storage.
