China is still a vast market with steady growth. In 2024, China’s total goods imports and exports surpassed two major milestones, reaching RMB43 trillion. The country’s share of the global export market has shown steady progress and is expected to reach approximately 14.7%. Nearly 700,000 companies, with over 80% of them being private enterprises, are involved in import and export activities, reflecting the strength and resilience of China’s foreign trade sector.

China’s foreign trade companies, through their rich experience and persistent market exploration, have built resilience, enhanced capabilities, and accumulated momentum — forming a solid foundation for the sector’s continued success.

The Canton Fair 2025, scheduled from April 15 to May 5, will showcase this growth, with nearly 170,000 overseas buyers pre-registered for the event. Key regions represented at the fair include Belt and Road Initiative countries (72%), BRICS nations (27.4%), OECD member countries (15.4%), RCEP member states (11.7%), as well as the Middle East (14.3%) and Europe and the Americas (10.5%).

Canton Fair 2025 as a key event for global trade and sourcing. The fair provides access to innovative products, competitive pricing, and valuable networking opportunities, but challenges related to geopolitical factors, tariffs, and intellectual property concerns may influence some U.S. companies’ participation. Despite these concerns, the fair’s role as a critical platform for finding new suppliers, exploring emerging technologies, and expanding into international markets remains undeniable.
