Market Overview: Stability Amid Select Price Rises
In April 2025, the Chinese insecticide market saw relatively stable pricing, with most technical-grade (TC) products showing minimal changes month-on-month (MoM). However, some key actives, including lambda-cyhalothrin TC, abamectin TC, and chlorpyrifos TC, registered noticeable MoM increases due to tighter supply and higher raw material costs.
Products with Price Increases
Pyrethroids: Supply Tightness Fuels Lambda-cyhalothrin TC
Lambda-cyhalothrin TC prices rose 4.55% MoM to RMB 115,000/t. Market tightness and higher intermediate costs drove this uptick. Other pyrethroids like cypermethrin and deltamethrin remained mostly stable, with only minor adjustments.
Antibiotic Insecticides: Abamectin and Emamectin Benzoate Climb
Abamectin TC rose 3.62% MoM to RMB 512,900/t, and emamectin benzoate TC climbed 0.83%. Limited production, coupled with robust demand, kept upward pressure on prices.
Organophosphates: Chlorpyrifos Rises on Raw Material Constraints
Chlorpyrifos TC increased 3.31% MoM due to restricted supply of key intermediates like O,O-diethylthiophosphoryl chloride and 3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-ol sodium, coupled with seasonal domestic demand.
Declining Products
Neonicotinoids: Weak Demand Pulls Down Imidacloprid, Acetamiprid
Imidacloprid TC and acetamiprid TC prices dropped by 1.72% and 1.55%, respectively. High supply and lagging downstream demand contributed to the price drop.
Minimal to No Changes
Many insecticides, including acephate TC, buprofezin TC, carbofuran TC, methomyl TC, and spirodiclofen TC, showed no significant price movement. These products benefited from stable supply-demand dynamics.
