Shanghai, March 17, 2025 – At the CAC 2025 Exhibition held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai, Fuhua Chemical and DBN Biotech officially announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating biotech-driven innovation in agriculture. The collaboration marks a milestone in cross-sector integration between chemical crop protection and agricultural biotechnology, and was exclusively reported by China Informatics.
Under the newly signed framework, both companies will engage in deep cooperation in the field of biotechnology, focusing on advancements in precision agriculture, low-carbon development, and the integration of seed and pesticide technologies to support the sustainable transformation of China’s agricultural technology landscape.

Li Ruiqi, Co-General Manager of Fuhua Chemical, stated that biotechnology is now a key component of China’s national food security strategy. He called on pesticide and agricultural input companies to collaborate and play an active role, especially as China expands planting areas for biotech crops and implements a new product registration process distinct from that used for conventional corn and soybean crops.
At the inauguration ceremony, Guo Wei, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA), emphasized the growing importance of seed-pesticide synergy as a core innovation trend. He highlighted the strategic significance of biotechnology in modern agriculture, citing the multi-billion RMB potential of this sector. Guo stated that many enterprises, especially in Beijing, are already participating in national biotech programs led by DBN Biotech. He added that government departments have laid a forward-thinking foundation to support this emerging industry and encouraged companies to seize the opportunity.
Ding Derong, Vice President of DBN Biotech, emphasized the shared responsibility of Chinese enterprises in ensuring national food security and advancing high-quality development of the grain sector. He positioned the partnership as a sign that Chinese companies are prepared to contribute to global agricultural sustainability.
Sun Jin’an, Innovation Director of DBN Biotech, highlighted the complementary strengths of both companies in biotech development. He expressed confidence that the partnership will help consolidate resources, jointly develop biotech markets, and generate meaningful outcomes. The collaboration involves a deep integration of glyphosate production technology with advanced biotech platforms, which the companies describe as a “pivot” for shaping the future of sustainable agriculture. This model aims to lead the industry into a new era of precision, low-emission, and intelligent farming, supporting China’s transformation into a global leader in agricultural science and technology.
Fuhua Chemical, established in 2007, is a global agrochemical manufacturer with integrated operations in mineral resource development, basic and fine chemical research and development, and crop protection distribution. The company ranks among the world’s top three producers of glyphosate, exporting to more than 80 countries and maintaining long-term partnerships with leading international enterprises.
DBN Biotech, founded in 2010 and a subsidiary of the DBN Group, focuses on developing agricultural biotechnologies with independent intellectual property. The company is an important force in promoting the industrialization of modern biotech agriculture in China, with a core focus on corn and soybean biotechnology and a vision to create intelligent biotechnology for agriculture.
